Welcome All,
I go by Mairs, I am a college girl working to make dreams into reality. Like most I had a plan. I knew what I wanted and the obstacles I had to overcome to achieve them, it wasn’t going to be easy but I knew it would be worth it. I was on my way until something unexpected happened that altered my path. I was diagnosed with a Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) located in my cerebellum near my brain stem. I was 23 at the time and everything was suddenly different. AVM’s are extremely rare, less than 1% of people are affected and it’s difficult to find stories of people living with it. I created this blog to share my journey with my family and friends as well as with anyone who is experiencing their own diagnosis. I’ve been living with this since September 2016 and I finally feel it’s time to share what I’ve been going through. I will be sharing what has happened that’s lead me to now. SPOILER ALERT: I’m about to have my 2nd brain surgery at the end of March, so follow me on my road to brain surgery. It’s been difficult but I’ve felt comfort in believing, “ I am stronger than this challenge and this challenge is making me even stronger.”
Join me in my tangled mess.
With love,
Mair
